What Should I Wear II

This weekend Im going to my boyfriend's Grand Dads 90th Birthday party. Which dress do you prefer?

I like the white lace H&M dress better but I will most likely have to put a cardi over it which kinda ruins the best bit of the dress. Its hard to tell in the picture but the front of the dress cuts higher towards the center instead of dipping down into a sweetheart neckline or a straight cut across. It makes the dress feel really unique and well structured.

This second option is from the Rodarte for Target line. I probably won't have to wear something over since it isn't strapless.

Any opinions?

What Should I Wear

I love these pants. They are great flair and with heels they hit perfectly. But I feel like I'm suffering a bit from Jessica Simpson Syndrom. If she has taught us anything beyond chicken of the sea, it is that high waisted pants are not for everyone. Im right on that border. At 5'5 I am nearly tall enough and at a size 6 I am nearly slim enough. But nearly isn't quite enough so it is fair to say these pants are not flattering. And I know that, so why did I buy them? Well, I love the style of them. Every now and then I like to break the good fit rules and just wear what I god damn like. But should that day be tomorrow?

I got this maxi from H&M in a last minute emergency shopping sesh. Forget a well balanced breakfast, there's nothing like an hour of shopping at 9am to start the day off right. I love it with a moss green silk crop top, I love it with a beige skinny belt, I love it with a sweater on top, I love it with an oversized green parka, I love it with wedges, I just love it.

What I Wore: Saturday

I stumbled across some more late 60s/early 70s inspiration. Here are some vintage pics of students in the teeny tiny High School that I went to in Connecticut. Most of the photos are dated from 1968-1971. Virgin Suicides mashed up with Dead Poets Society = To die for photos

This one is by far my favorite photo of the lot. I love the fit of his pants with the buck shoes. He seems like the kind of guy who is a little weird and shy but confident at the same time. He's got a touch of George Harrison right? Note how almost no studying is ever being done in these photos. Isn't that what High School was all about. 

Howwww cute are these guys. They much have been on the football team, or at least the soccer team.

I included this one because its pretty much the only one with womens fashion. Very cute mini on the brunette towards the left.

I honestly can't explain how obsessed I am with Vanessa Paradis. It started when I started listening to her music to help my french. But then when Serge Gainsbourg stepped in as a mentor Vanessa went all lolita (she is french after all). Anyways I can't get enough of the photos of her from back the day, there are better photos out there, but here are a few that I am inspired by.
